Narayanganj is called the “dandy” of Bangladesh because the largest jute mills are situated there. Narayanganj is situated near Old Dhaka. Narayanganj is a small town, but there are many places to visit or roam. I visited many places in Narayanganj. Now, I am sharing my experiences with you.

Bose Cabin

More than 100 years old, Bose Cabin is situated in No. 2 Railgate, Chasara, Narayanganj. It is a restaurant and is well-known because many famous Bangladeshi people came here, especially the National Father of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and Sher-e-Bangla A.K. Fazlul Haque.

Open time:Every day from morning to late night.

Food:Tea, cutlet, and Bengali food items. Tea and cutlet are fantastic. I have tasted them.

 

Sonargaon Museum

Sonargaon Museum is situated in Mograpara, Narayanganj. This museum was established in 1975.

Boro Sardar Bari is situated in front of the gate. The mansion is well-designed and attractive. Inside the mansion, you can see the dwellings of daily life that were used. There is a pond where you can spend your time. I stayed there for some time.

Opening time: Same as Sonargaon Museum.

Ticket: 100 BDT for locals, 200 BDT for foreigners (if you want to enter here).

In the middle, there is a folk museum, a multi-floored building. Folk and village items are displayed there. Besides the museum, there is a park, boating area, and food stalls. There is a small fabric market where you can buy handloom garments.

Opening time: Every day except Thursday.

Ticket price: 100 BDT for foreigners.

 

Panam City

This is a ruined city. You can see some buildings that have been reconstructed by the government. I roamed every corner of the city. This place is good for taking photos. Behind the city, there is a small jungle.

 

Goyaldi Mosque

A few meters away from Panam City, an old mosque with one dome is situated. Locals say that it was made invisibly. No one prays there.

 

Murapara Jamidar Bari

Murapara Jamidar Bari is situated in Murapara, Vulta, Narayanganj. The front building is used as a degree college. It is a very beautiful building. Beside the main building, there are some ruined buildings that were used as the jamidar’s house. There is a pond and jungle. In front of Jamidar Bari, there is a dighi (big pond). Many boys were swimming when I visited. A tree garden is beside the pond. In front of the pond, there is a big playground where football is being played. There are three temples beside the temple.

 

Sabdi Village

Sabdi village is situated in Bondar, Narayanganj. This is a beautiful village. This village looks like a picture. The Shitalokha River is flowing beside the village. People are more amused by the sunflower gardens. A wonderful afternoon can be spent here.

 

Kaikartek Hat

Kaikartek Hat is situated in Kaikartek, Bandar, Narayanganj. The green fields are more charming here. A weekly temporary market is held here on Wednesday. You can buy anything if you go there. Don’t miss out on the cow milk tea. Beside Kaikertek Hat, there is a vegetable field area where local people cultivate various types of vegetables. People, especially couples, come here to spend quality time.

Sonakanda and Haziganj Fort

The Mughals built three forts to protect Dhaka city from pirates. Two are in present-day Narayanganj, and the remaining one is in present-day Munshiganj. The forts are now destroyed, but some architecture remains. I went there to visit.
